Anke Roepke

Meet Anke. Pinecone Pups’ training partner. Using her magic clicker as a wand for wagging tails, she is a seasoned animal trainer known for her focus on relationship-focused, science-backed training methods.  With extensive experience in handling a variety of animals, including wolves, big cats, and other exotic species, Anke has dedicated her career to fostering strong bonds between humans and their animal companions.

After earning her (tiger) stripes working in the field, Anke leaped into academia, teaching eager minds the ABCs and artistry of animal training and behavior as a college professor in an undergraduate program. She became a guru of gentle methods, championing relationship-focused training that emphasizes effective communication over coercion.

Nowadays, Anke works as an instructional designer in the corporate world. This work allows her to use her knowledge of adult learning to design and build training experiences and curriculums.  As a self-proclaimed “behavior nerd”, she also enjoys staying current in advancements in behavior and training.

Anke’s world wouldn’t be complete without being paws deep in the joy of teaching. This is where the partnership with Pinecone Pups comes in! Anke continues to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for creating harmonious human-animal relationships. She is committed to empowering pet paw-rents with the skills to interpret and respond to their canine’s behaviors, all while having fun and seeing wagging tails as applause for successful sessions.
